The United Kingdom is a country settled on the north-western coast of Europe. Its capital city is London, and the country itself consists of islands of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and other numerous islands. The country is large, and thanks to that and its position it offers a few types of climate. Thanks to this, its great history and many other features, The United Kingdom is quite an attraction for tourists. We won't be discussing the urban aspects of Britain's tourism in this article, but we will focus on quite a popular activity, camping, with the accent on eco camping.

In the last few decades people started understanding what and how much nature does for us and means to us. However, we are talking about a relatively small group of people, and the majority is still unaware of the consequences of pollution. There are many types of pollution, and if people think cars and factories are the only polluters, they're wrong. We can all be polluters, and we can all be eco-friendly, the question is: What do we chose? We can prove out selves useful even if we go camping, just by being aware of our actions.

The United Kingdom is one of the world's largest energy consumers, and is an industrial country, and people, for instance, in London, can see what they breathe. How sad is that? People decide to go and spend a holiday in nature, and then they leave cans, cigarette butts, and similar waste behind, destroying the nature even more. We expect form it to protect us, but we rarely thank it, or try to protect it ourselves. Not everyone knows how to do it, therefore, going eco camping can be fun and educational. The United Kingdom has a number of family farms which are eco-friendly, and spending a holiday there is an excellent idea.

When it comes to accommodation, you can either bring your own tent for camping, or you can rent their tents, yurts and tipis. Most of the farms are car-free zones, so you'll be forced to practice the long forgotten art of walking. Most toilets are compost, and in order to save energy, showers are mostly solar. Activity wise, you can go hiking, swimming, or just hanging out with the nature. Prices are more than reasonable, and in the peak of the season are rarely more than L5 per person a day.

The educational part of the trip is fun and very useful. Apart from socialization with people who think alike and spending nice and quiet evenings around camp fires, you'll have the option to visit and take part in many workshops and activities during camping, both for adults and for kids. Kids' workshops and activities are always supervised.

Summer is the season we all want to spend away from home, and if you've had enough air conditioned hotel rooms and crowded beaches, maybe it is the right time to get in the car and go eco camping. It is an excellent opportunity for the family to bond and to learn new, useful things.

In case things like efficient use of water, minimization and waste recycling, avoiding pollution and use of environmentally damaging materials sound like things you want to learn about and practice, camping in an eco-friendly environment in The United Kingdom is the right thing for you.
